Don't mind the shark I tied to the front door
[The fortress at Nakatomigawa is, well, not the most reputable looking of fortifications. There are bits and pieces of machinery sitting about, scorch marks everywhere, the occasional crater, and a giant shark hanging above the entrance way. It's no better inside. The whole place is poorly lit, full of death traps, and populated entirely by rough-looking, frequently unwashed pirates. Of the properties held by the Chosokabe clan, it's probably the one least suited to receiving guests. However, you can't expect the head of the clan to dock the giant monstrosities he calls pirate ships in ports convenient to Oko Castle every time.
Motochika's men are on orders to let Mitsunari through if he decides to make an appearance, though Motochika doesn't particularly expect him to show up. Or, if he does, the possibility hasn't occurred to him in a while because he's been too wrapped up in tinkering with this and that in his workshop. Thus, he's completely surprised when one of his men bursts into the room, breathless and a bit shaken and bringing word that Mitsunari has somehow managed to get into the building intact. Motochika isn't exactly used to playing host to visitors in this particular locale, so there's a bit of a rush to get a room cleaned out, food prepared, and a guide sent out to ensure that Mitsunari can find his way to Motochika with all his limbs still attached.
When he does arrive, he'll find the room tidy enough, but the food is a bit slow in coming and Motochika...well, soot is hard to clean off, okay? And he was busy.]
